I’ve been sidetracked since yesterday thinking about audio for my game. With the current Humble Bundle software sale, I came across Rytmik, which, although quite single-minded in its purpose, looks like it might be a fun and easy way to try and build some chiptunes to go wth my levels.
So that got me wondering, what limitations there are getting out of Rytmik and into MiniMicro. Trying to read between the lines in the MiniMicro cheatsheet, is multitrack music possible? For example, can I play a background beat continuously, and then overlay separate melody tracks depending on what’s happening in the game? Or would I have to score completely different files with the full song for each change I wanted to make?
I’m not sure if that’s what the mix command is for, or whether thats just for combining two sounds into one to, for example, make a harmony from two individual sounds, which then always plays as one complex sound afr being mixed.
Thanks.
Russell.
